Re: Turboprint daemon dying on Debian testing
Turns out my "fix" only worked for so long... a couple of days later the issue was back. I ended up blacklisting the usblp module. The OP had a problem with the daemon which is different.

Re: Turboprint daemon dying on Debian testing
I found the following information related to Fedora... I figured I would try it and it worked fine for me In a terminal window, run the command lpadmin -p <printer> -o usb-unidir-default=true with <printer> being the name of your printer as displayed by the "lpstat -p" command. Now turn of...

Re: Rendering intent?
Oh I forgot to ask, the information you gave me, this is true regardless if i'm using a Turboprint specific or ICC profile? I have a Zedo profile for my printable CDs, but use my own ICC profiles for photo paper, done with a Colormunki and Argyll

Re: Rendering intent?
Oh, that's interesting! I thought that Saturation was a completely different type of rendering intent. Different software like Gimp or Photoshop use Perceptual, Relative with BPC on/off, and Saturation. Is this just a Turboprint quirk, or is it that in reality, saturation and relative BPC on are one...

Rendering intent?
Hi, in turboprint studio, the two "major" rendering intents are available. Perceptual and Relative Colorimetric. Relative tends to crush shadows, and perceptual changes colors a bit -sometimes-. I was wondering if Turboprint will ever implement Black Point Compensation to use with Relative...

Re: canon ip4300 cd printing
I forgot to mention.. the CD tray on the canon will operate ONLY if you select "CD" or "A4" as paper size. My template assumes A4 size is selected

Re: canon ip4300 cd printing
Hi, I just use glabels. It works absolutely fine (ip4500 but it's essentially the same printer). Glabels is as easy as the windows Canon software. Combine that with a color profile for my blank DVDs that I bought from zedo and it does not get much better. here is my template <?xml version="1.0&...

Just to let everyone know I finally resolved this issue. Changing distros has solved the issue for a while, and then it would break after a while (after updates). The issues seems to come from CUPS. If I enable remote administration via the web interface, non-root accounts are finally able to change...

thanks for the info... just to see what would happen, I installed Ubuntu 9.10 on a different partition and installed Turboprint... That works perfectly, all the options I need are in the Gnome printer app (system-config-printer 1.1.12) running as a simple user, and there does not seem to be a need f...

problem with TurboPrint Monitor Applet - using Arch [SOLVED]
I've been ripping my hair out with Turboprint.. first with Ubuntu months ago (I gave up), now with Arch Linux... my problems are related to PAPER SIZE selections, but i've noticed other problems with color intent/double profiling. I resolved part of my issues by uninstalling the gnome-cups-manager, ...
