Re: custom .pfprofile for B&W

Yes, this is possible. In our profile creation service, we also offer to create profiles optimized for grayscale printing. When printing the profile chart in PrintFab Toolbox, please select "Black & white profile (color chart optimized for grayscale)" - this will print a color chart wi...

Re: no GUI in MacOS

Hello, this problem is known for macOS 10.14 Mojave (PrintFab Settings GUI not available, simple drop down boxes as replacement), but should not be present in more recent versions like macOS 11 Big Sur. Two questions: - is the GUI missing in all applications or only in certain apps, e.g. no GUI in &...

Re: PrintFab 2.95 with support for macOS 11 Big Sur

Hello, PrintFab 2.95 is not compatible with macOS 13 Ventura, you need the current PrintFab version 2.98. Re: Epson SC-P600 - profiling thick glossy paper

Hello, unfortunately the paper feed selection is fixed to the upper tray when printing the ink limit test row and the profile color chart. There are two workarounds: - try to load the same paper from the upper tray - if that doesn't work, I can send you a modified driver file that will feed the pape...

Re: Canon imagePROGRAF PRO-300 Red Ink

Here are the answers to your questions (sorry for the delay):

- TurboPrint applies the colour profile to the RGB data
- the settings on the printer itself don't matter when printing with TurboPrint

Re: Canon Pro-300 only prints 600ppi, not 1200ppi

Hello, I just checked Canon's specifications and your observation is correct. For printers like the Canon imagePROGRAF Pro-300 that perform halftoning in the printer firmware, there are two types of "print resolution" : - the "input resolution" or "rendering resolution"...

Re: Transparencies with Canon ix6820 not printing

Hello, yes, I agree that it could be a problem with bad ink cartridges and I am almost sure that it is not a problem with driver settings. The ink cartridges for Canon have a sponge that "holds" the ink and prevents it from flowing out. In some refill cartridges not enough ink is released ...

Re: Will the gimp plugin work with gimp-2.99

Hello, we haven't tried the TurboPrint plugin with GIMP 2.99 yet but chances are good so please give it a try. It is important to know that the TurboPrint GIMP print plugin will only work with a regular installation of GIMP (.tgz .deb .rpm or compile &install from source), not with a SNAP package.

Re: Canon imagePROGRAF PRO-300 Red Ink

Hello, the Canon imagePROGRAF Pro-300 can only be controlled by the printer driver in "Device RGB" color space which means that the printer accepts a RGB bitmap for the page and does the conversion to the actual printer inks (Yellow, Magenta, Cyan, Black, Grey, Red, ...) within the printer...
