Please check the print command in the GIMP print dialog. There should be no "-o raw" option, e.g. change

lp -d tp0 -o raw

into

lp -d tp0

"permission denied" errors may occur if you installed using "./setup" instead of "sudo ./setup". Can you post the error messages you got?

KWord has the standard KDE print dialog. If a TurboPrint printer was set up (using sudo xtpsetup), it should be visible in the print dialog as printer "tp0".

The LED blinks if the printer receives data that are not printer command codes.

You could send the last section of the file /var/log/turboprint_cups.log, i.e. the part between "new print job" and "end of print job".

xtpsetup

for TurboPrint Setup (adding new printers; root login required) and

xtpconfig

for TurboPrint Config (changing printer driver default settings, e.g. print quality, paper size & type, ...).
