Setup

Post by Giblea »

I have downloaded and installed turboPrint but when i double click on setup i get this message.
There was a error launching the application
Details: Failed to execute child process '' KDESU" ( No such file or directory).
I have no idea what this means or what to do next.

Hello,

you can either

- start TurboPrint Setup from a root command line - enter

xtpsetup

or

- edit Desktop/xtpsetup.desktop

and replace

Exec=kdesu xtpsetup

Exec=xtpsetup

problems with installation and set up

Post by birdbrain »

I have an old Hp Compaq desktopwith a bios of 1999. I have installed Fedora 8 on it.What version of Turboprint 1.96 do I install on it.Debian doesn't work.If I try the rpm one,it installs but doesn't print. I get an error that it wants the kdesu file,whatever that is.My printer is a Canon Pixma mp460.
My Linux computer is sharing the printer with a Window computer.I have a usb switch.
Debisn installed very easily when I had Suse.,ven with the usb switch.

Hello,

for Fedora Linux, use the rpm package.

If you get the error message "no kdesu file or directory", you can either

- start TurboPrint Setup from a root command line - enter

xtpsetup

or

- edit Desktop/xtpsetup.desktop

and replace

Exec=kdesu xtpsetup

by

Exec=xtpsetup
