Test page prints but all other jobs automatically 'stopped'

Long time TP user here; TP suddenly won't print with my Canon Pixma IP4000. The test page prints from TP, and printer is shown as online and idle in TP Monitor, but all other documents printed are listed as print jobs with status 'Processing' for a few seconds, before quickly changing to status 'Stopped'. There is ink, there is paper, and the printer itself has no flashing light (which would indicate a problem). So why are all jobs now automatically 'Stopped'? Thanks!
