can't revert to v 1.8 after v2 demo

Post by primer »

Hi,

I read before installing the demo that I could go back to earlier version by uninstalling the demo. The uninstall seemed to go cleanly but I cant get my printers to work again on v1.8

I was able to enter my turboprint.tpkey file and it shows like it is registered.
I have licence 100060506182309

Can you please confirm what version this should work with and where I can down load the software. Maybe my local copy got corrupted in the swap over.

Although it accpeted the file it seemed to be looking for a *key rather than *tpkey. I recall you changed things a one time , have I got my versions mixed up?

TIA.

PS sorry this should of course have gone in to turboprint section not Fab.

Hello,

after uninstallation of version 2 and reinstallation of version 1, TurboPrint 1 should work as before (as far as it is still the same old Linux distribution). Note that current Linux distributions will only work with TurboPrint 2 as most libraries have been changed.
We have stopped the support of TurboPrint 1 as it has been replaced more than two years ago.

thanks for the reply.

I did not have any library issues and the software was working just before I installed the v2 demo. So that is not the problem here.

I do not need detailed tech support at this stage since the software was working but I do not expect to find myself unable to use what I payed you for after following your advice that the demo would not break my existing installation.

Could you please answer my question as to which version the licence I purchased corresponds to and where I can download the tarball?

many thanks.

Unfortunately we do not supply TurboPrint 1.x downloads anymore (v1.x has been replaced by TurboPrint 2.x more than two years ago and is no longer supported).

I may well still have the tarball or can find it elsewhere if you would so kind as to tell me what version of the software my licence applies to!

I recall that you changed the keyfiles at some stage during 1.x so I need to know upto what release I can use that with.

I'm not asking for tech support, I just want to know what version my license applies to. That would not seem too much to ask.

regards.

Keyfiles of Turboprint 1 are valid for all versions 1.x, i.e. any TurboPrint 1 installation package should work. The only difference between registered and unregistered version is the Turboprint label that is added to the demo version in every printout.
