ubuntu 12.04 turboprintdaemon dies

Just upgraded to Ubuntu Precise 12.04 from Oneiric 11.10
Turboprint daemon (TP-Daemon Version 2.25-1) seems to die randomly, and even when it's running the
Turboprint Monitor says the printer isn't connected and does not show ink levels, but printing still works ?!

can you please find out the device URI in TurboPrint Control (list of printers, columns "URI"). The URI should be something starting with "usb://..." or "tpu://..."?

Is there only one printer attached or do you have several printers? If several printers, please send the URIs of all printers.

I deleted the printer and installed it new.

The printing seem to work, there is a warning about the connection to the tpintdeamon.
Here is the apport.log:

thank you for your feedbacks.
We implemented some changes in the code of turboprint-daemon to avoid the mentioned crashes with Ubuntu 12.04. Before releasing it in a future version of TurboPrint we would appreciate it if you could beta test it and give us feedback if the problem is actually solved.
Please send a short email to mail(at)zedonet(dot)de with indication of your Linux system (32 or 64bits) so we can send you a new tprintdaemon binary.

In my case, TurboPrint2 2.21-1 worked fine on Ubuntu 11.10 but with Uvuntu 12.04 although both TurboPrint Control and TurboPrint Monitor work, the TurboPrint Monitor continues to say that my printer is not connected or turned off. Yet, it prints just fine.

There is a known problem with Apport and certain onboard Intel video cards - no, I don't know if this is relevant, sorry.

I have tried removing TurboPrint2 and re-installing it but with no change in TurboPrint bhaviour.

My move to Ubuntu 12.04 was an upgrade so I may yet try a clean install to see if that makes any difference. Again, I do not know if this is relevant.
