Support of higher end Epson Printers...

Post by codiau »

How about supporting the higher end Epson printers. There would be no need for justification if TurboPrint for Linux/Mac were available for some or all of Epsons(3800; 4880; 9880; 11880) professional imaging printers. Advanced amateurs and professionals would have a major advantage over Windows based 'service bureau' printing facilities.

I agree

I agree. One thing is that when a new printer is released by either Canon or Epson I would like to see a print driver for that model before the next model becomes a little more than speculation.

Now it is September 5, 2008 and I still do not see a driver for the Epson Styles Pro3800 printer. I expect in another year its replacement will be announced.

If Epson and Canon would support Linux out of the box then people like myself would not be so demanding and then you could concentrate on supplying different features but as it stands now I do not know of anybody using an Epson 3800 with any Linux distro.

Hello,

I just saw that this thread hasn't been answered yet.

Currently there is not much user demand for Linux drivers for these printers so we concentrate on smaller inkjet printers. However, as we also sell a Macintosh version of our drivers (the "PrintFab" printer driver & RIP software) it is planned to release further Epson Stylus Pro drivers.
