TurboPrint not working since ink refilled

Post by Deerfoot »

Hello from Australia!

I have TurboPrint2 and it's been just great with my Canon Pixma iP1700.
However, I had my Canon black and colour cartridges refilled a couple of days ago by Cartridge World. Their ink quality is excellent and I've used it a long time. With CW refills, TurboPrint2 can't read the code (because there is none) on the cartridges. Consequently, it thinks there's no ink. :?
How can I over-ride this problem? - I was able to do this before I changed over to Linux-Ubuntu.
Looking forward to someone's help, so I don't have to go back to buying the expensive Canon refills. :)

Hello,

what means "can't read the code because there is none"?
Probably your printer needs cartridges with a chip, so it will not work without it. Some refilled cartridges are delivered without that chip and require the chip of the empty original cartridge.
This has nothing to do with the printer driver - it's the printer that does not work without the chip.

Many thanks for the reply.
The problem was solved when I went to Turbo Print Control Center-Edit-Reset ink counters.
Now the printer is printing once more. :D
