removed PPD files out of temp

Post by stevek007 »

I did a silly thing - I removed the PPD files out of /<home>/tmp as I was cleaning up tmp - it was larg, but this upset turbo print, so I uninstalled the rpm and then reinstalled thr rpm, there are some ppd files installed, but I now get an error

unable to open ppd file 48877771186f5

When I print in gimp, I have the turbo print entry buy the printer (an R2400 Epsom) doesn't show and I only get a postscript level2 printer showing...

Also the print area is different when shown in the printer dialog.

I am sure that it showed the printer name there before, so does anyone know what I need to do to get back to it should look like ??

Thanks

Hello,

deleting files in /tmp or /home/tmp should not concern TurboPrint - I think the problem must be somewhere else.

The error message "unable to open ppd file 48877771186f5" is not a TurboPrint error message - maybe it comes from the application.

Can you print a test page from TurboPrint Control Center, "Toolbox" window?

Which application did you use to print?

I was using gimp to print - using the plugin.

I was able to print the test print with no errors from turboprint -
