Hi,

I've recently moved from Ubuntu to OpenSuse 12.1 x86_64. Under Ubuntu, turboprint was working fine, however under OpenSuse I am unable to detect the printer.

The cups error_log shows the following:

Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Sorry - should have mentioned the printer is a Canon MG6150, and I'm trying to connect over the network.

Thanks again

Ah - looks like it's a firewall issue. Disabling the firewall allows the printer to be detected.

Just need to find out what to allow through the firewall, so I can enable it again. I'll have a play....

Sorted! For anyone else experiencing the same problem, I needed only to create a custom rule in the YaST firewall configuration to allow UDP port 8611 through
