Font in TurboPrint-Config

The font in TurboPrint-Config and in other places is practically illegible. The letters are so close together and poorly formed that I can barely decipher them. Is this something to do with GTK1 or 2? How do I make them appear in some normal, legible form?

TurboPrint still uses gtk-1.2 - we will move to gtk-2 in one of the next releases.

Maybe it helps to choose a different font in .gtkrc.mine (in the home directory).

Which Linux distribution & version do you use?

You can also post the content of the .gtkrc* files in your home directory.

I found this line in .gtkrc.mine (in the home directory): font="-adobe-helvetica-medium-r-normal-*-12-*-*-*-p-*-iso8859-1"
I have no idea how to change it to, say, verdana or whatever. Fortunately I don't have to set up or adjust anything at this point.

I'm using Ubuntu 7.04, Feisty Fawn, and just upgraded from Edgy Eft.
