Upgrade Fedora 7 to 8 with turboprint 1.95-x to 1.96-3

Post by DonKiShoot »

After upgrading my OS ( Fedora 7 to 8 ) and upgrading turboprint from 1.95-x to 1.96-3, turboprint bug a lot !

xtpconfig for user doesn't start

In console i can see :

Gtk-WARNING **: Failed to load module "libgnomebreakpad.so": libgnomebreakpad.so:

On popup i can read :

Error:
Could not open configuration file!
Start TurboPrint Setup / xtpsetup first!

If i try xtpsetup with root, it always show empty and i must add my printers all the time.

Where can i search ???

Thanks in advance for your help.

I suppress the libgnomebreakpad.so error by adding

/usr/lib/gtk-2.0/modules

in /etc/ld.so.conf
and run ldconfig

but xtpconfig continue to stop running with

Error:
Could not open configuration file!
Start TurboPrint Setup / xtpsetup first!

Hello,

it should be possible to start xtpconfig once a printer has been added - either using TurboPrint Setup / command line "xtpsetup" or KDE control panel / CUPS (web frontend or lpadmin command line tool).

Can you check if something has been written to the file

/etc/turboprint/turboprint.cfg

after adding a printer from xtpsetup?

Sorry for inconvenient because now, after upgrading cups, it seems that i have no more problems.

And better, now user can start xtpsetup than before he couldn't (only root could starting xtpsetup before).

PS: disappearing printer configurations seem still to be a problem with TurboPrint up to 1.96-3 and CUPS version 1.3.4 or higher.

If someone else has this problem, please download the current TurboPrint 1.96-4.
