I'm a new user of Kubuntu 8.10. I don't have a CUPS or cupsys user at all. Any idea what I need to do to get this working?
Installing TP 2 almost works
Hello,
the log files look mostly okay except
"Installing color space ISO Coated v2 (ECI) failed"
(however, this is no problem if you are printing RGB photos)
and
"pixmap_class::open: can't read magic header"
which appears before a page is printed - this means that the TurboPrint printer driver did not receive any image data from Ghostscript.
Can you print a test page from TurboPrint Control Center -> Toolbox?

TP2 on Kubuntu 8.10
First, to answer the question, TurboPrint does print it's own test page just fine.
However, adept delivered a lot of CUPS upgrades today, and now I can print from Gimp. I haven't tried any other application, but I would assume that a bog in CUPS was causing the problem, which now appears fixed.
Thanks, and Merry Christmas to all!
