No Black Channel on Designjet 500
No Black Channel on Designjet 500
Hi, i am using PrintFab Pro and one of my printers is a DesignJet 500. The prints are coming out too bright and the the settings dialog only shows yellow, magenta and cyan under Consumption. But using the self test of the printer the black channel works and the printhead is not clogged. Any idea what could be wrong? My other printers also show the consumption for the black channel.
Re: No Black Channel on Designjet 500
So I just investigated the issue a bit further and tried to create a custom profile. Opening the .tpr files I found that for the DesignJet there are only three channels configured (c,m,y) while for my Canon Pro 10S there are all available channels listed.
I compared the output of the same test page printed with PrintFab on Windows to a print i made with the default MacOS driver. While the latter shows deep blacks, the PrintFab output is clearly brighter and there is no real black.
So the printer should be capable of printing with all four colours, but PrintFab just wont let me.
