Hi,

I'm pondering about the Epson P700 and Canon PRO-300 printers.

I do not pay much attention to color printing and, therefore, my questions below apply to 'Gray photo'.

Does the driver applies the Chroma-Optimizer channel to the Canon PRO-300?

TurboPrint reports an Epson P700 print quality settings up to 5760dpi. For Canon Pro-300 it goes up to 1200dpi super. Is there a resolution disadvantage to the Canon printer when using the TurboPrint driver?

Many thanks in advance.

Rodrigo

ps: I assume that it does not matter to the questions made above, but the operating system here is Linux.

Hello,

with both printers TurboPrint produces a printed output that is almost identical to the manufacturer's Windows printer driver. This is because the printer receives a "page bitmap" and controls ink usage (grey and other special inks, chroma optimizer) within the printer firmware.

The print resolution that you can achive with the Epson P700 is actually a bit higher.
