Re: Creating ICC profiles with ColorMunki / EyeOne / Spyder Print
a followup question. The snapshot included above shows the actual chart side-by-side the print dialog. Is it possible to save the chart as a tiff or similar file? I tried to look for such a save option on linux (turboprint studio), but it does not seem to be possible on this OS. The chart snapshot i...

turboprint takes long time to start
Hi, after reinstalling Ubuntu 20.04 on my laptop, and after installing turboprint 2.50-1 again, now the turboprint command takes a long time (~30 seconds) before the application windows shows up. If I run turboprint as root then the application starts immediately. Otherwise, everything else seems to...

Re: printing from Photoshop/Lightroom using ProPhoto RGB
browsing around I came to the posting listed below. The file 'ProPhoto RGB.icc' linked there is actually accepted by turboprint as a new color space. This file is much shorter (940 bytes) than the file I mentioned before (16756 bytes). Any hint about the difference between both files and why the lar...

Re: printing from Photoshop/Lightroom using ProPhoto RGB
A tangential question here. How do you add the "ProPhoto RGB" color space? In my ubuntu system I tried loading the file shown below, but 'New Color Space' ended with an error message 'the selected file is not a valid color profile'.
/usr/share/color/icc/colord/ProPhotoRGB.icc
/usr/share/color/icc/colord/ProPhotoRGB.icc

Re: Black and White (only) printing Epson 3880
I have the same question about the apparently coarse control of some sliders (e.g. Color/Grey Tone wheel sliders +-5). Could it be that the color profiles have not enough resolution to make more fine grained control meaningful? Could that be improved somehow? Well, maybe not. I just wonder why the s...

Hahnemuehle Baryta too warm using ZEDOnet profile?
Hi, I have received my ZEDOnet profiles (for Epson R2400 and grayscale optimized) for Epson Luster and Hahnemuehle PhotoRag Baryta. I am happily impressed with the results. Very happy indeed! This was well expended money. The Baryta paper is warmer than the Epson. My test image (monochrome) printed ...

Re: black ink type and profile service
Thanks for your prompt reply. On the chart I printed it says: Photo/5760dpi/5760dpi_gloss That is, it is the probably the '_gloss' string what tells to the profiling process the ink I'm using. I did post my question because the profile page for the Epson R2400 Premium Luster Paper, reports Matte Bla...

Black & White Profile
Hi, the Print color chart dialog has a chart type option 'Black & White Profile'. Can you comment if this is a good choice for an Epson Stylus Photo R2400 with which I print monochrome only? (loaded with Epson Ultra Chrome K3). On the other hand, are Black & Gray Profiles to be used with col...

black ink type and profile service
Hi, I have printed the ink limit and color chart for my specific paper and printer (have order numbers available already.) How does the profiling process know that I'm printing with Photo Black ink? As opposed to Matte Black. Or does the profiling process service never need to know what black ink ty...

Re: Save multiple settings in GIMP TurboPrint plugin
I did have a setting configuration for Baryta, then, as suggested, I added the same printer but with a different name, to collect setting to print on Luster paper. But strange things started happening. The first sign of trouble was that after launching Settings dialog (TurboPrint Config button on th...

using Epson's profile on an R2400 printer
Hello, I have been printing from linux just recently and I'm very happy to see that the results are good. I have been trying TP on an Epson R2400 printer: - epson K3 inks - photo black - epson ultra premium photo paper luster In printer settings I have selected 'Epson Premium Satin' as the media typ...
