i'm using the disk that come with it... "epson stylus dx4400 series software cd-rom" just says windows edition on the disk.
i thik you might be on to something actually with the vista thing.... this does sound like it could be a vista glitch.... when i read the reviews for the printer, it says does ...

epson dx450 all in german
i'm using educated guess work when i'm printing...
all of the driver and printer options are in german... and i did uninstall it and reinstall it to double check that i did select english as the lanuage of choice.
i'm on vista if that helps at all?
and help would be really usefull!!!
