So far the MX850 driver works fine.
Any plans to support the Canon MX850's network protocol, too? (unfortunately the MX850 does not support any open standard printing protocols).

And how much an upgrade from 1.x to 2.x will cost (single license)?

I don't want to flame or stir a commotion, but to me it seems you guys from TurboPrint focus so much on your new 2.0 release that you forgot what the most important part of your software is:
Drivers, drivers, drivers!

Sorry, but what good is a great UI, new printing features etc if all new ...

Sorry to tell you, but you won't!

The Canon printer does not use any standard network printing protocol. Instead it uses a proprietary one that only works with their Windows and MacOS drivers!

So far there is no way to access the printer from Linux other than via USB or a standard USB network ...

Any news on new drivers (esp. Canon MX850)?

But, did anyone got this printer accessed via its build-in printer server at all?
I didn't and as long this doesn't work a driver is quite useless (only for network access of course).

Any idea what to type in to connect to this printer via TurboPrint setup??

Hi,

I just bought a Canon MX850.
Even that there's no driver available yet, I tried to reach the printer via network, but no avail.

I tried all (CUPS-)methods:
IPP, HTTP, LPD, JetDirect etc.
But in all cases I wasn't able to pint anything!

Anyone got an idea?
