Re: Keyfile will not install
Where is the key file supposed to be installed? I tried /usr/lib/turboprint/keyfile but don't see it in there? Could there be a permissions issue? rbrown@fedora:/usr/lib/turboprint$ ls 95turboprint_monitor kde3applet tpfilter appindicator kde41applet tpfilterraw bjnp kde42applet tpstdin commandtotur...

Keyfile will not install
In relation to my last post (issues with Gimp plugin), when I try to print I get an error telling me that the demo has expired and I need to install the keyfile. However, the key is installed. I tried installing key again, but get same error Screenshot from 2024-11-24 19-24-18.png Fedora Linux 41 (C...

Gimp plugin not compatible or won't install with Gimp 3
Gimp plugin is not compatible or won't install with Gimp 3. It was fine on Gimp 2.10, then my system updated and I got 3.0 without realizing. This is quite a cutting edge version I guess. Given I cannot use a flatpak for the plugin, what would be my options? Thanks System: Fedora 41 Gimp version: Gi...

[SOLVED] Re: Printing is very slow
OK, I tried instead connecting the printer to my network via a standard patch cable. I set it up with cups (via system utlities), then copied the cups URI to set up the print in turboprint Works, and printing speed is now fast! I created a separate thread on how I could set up the printer instead wi...

Setting up printer with direct ethernet crossover cable
Hi Related to my other issue of printing too slow I am trying to now direct connect my printer to my PC using a crossover ethernet cable. I read the TurboPrint user manual and it isn't clear how to set this up (or even if it is possible). I can manually set up the printer to a specific IP address, s...

Re: Printing is very slow
OK thank you
I will try ethernet insterad. I made a crossover cable to allow me to directly connect to my computer (don't have enough ports in my office to put the printer on the network).
I will report back once I've figured out how to set this up.

Re: Printing is very slow
I just tried printing a 5x7 at 720 dpi
It took around 5 minutes! Usually this takes about 30-60 seconds

Printing is very slow
Hi I have been a user for a few years now. I noticed that on my last distro that I had some very idiosyncratic print speed issues. Example: - Print 4x6 in GIMP plugin. Prints fine at normal speed. - Print borderless 4x6 in system module. Prints very slow, with head transitioning once every 5 seconds...
