the printer driver doesn't (and cannot) call any cleaning sequences in the printer - the printer firmware decides if it is necessary to clean the print heads before a job is printed. In my experience there is no difference in the printer's behaviour when running under Linux or Windows.

PS: The new driver was actually missing in the 64bit archives of TurboPrint 2.06 - we have just put a corrected version online.

There is a known problem with the BJNP backend in combination with printing pages with lots of data. Please try if it works when connecting the printer via the Socket protocoll (tcp://). can you please check what "URI" is entered as connection in the printer setup in TurboPrint Control Center? Probably you have chosen the SMB Protocol, so the URI should start with "SMB://...".

the Canon IP 4600 will be supported with the next release of TurboPrint. We expect this release withing the next two weeks.
Unfortunately the printer does not work with the IP4500 driver.
