One of our customers has programmed a network backend that should work for the MX850:

the setup script reports that "tpsetup" and some of the "install-..." files are missing.

A possible explanation is that the download of the .tgz file was not complete. The file turboprint-1.96-4.tgz should have a length of 7925438bytes.

I checked our linearization protocols - 100% black had an L value of 2.5 (Lab color space) on our printer which is quite dark.

Are prints with 1440dpi or 2880dpi darker than prints with 5760dpi?

I suspect that the GUI installation can't be started because libraries are missing.

To find out which libraries enter from command line

ldd bin/xtpsetup

(the TurboPrint installation directory must be the current directory).

To make the outer ring larger, modify the line

Margins=270,466,3450,2010

e.g. to

Margins=210,406,3390,1950

the maximum for the outer size is now 4726, the CD size is 12cm = 4.724".
