The problem might be something else than the network transport (please try if printing with local USB connection works).

You could post the logfile /var/log/turboprint_cups.log (or the portion of the last print job from it).

It seems that the file format of the file to be printed cannot be recognized or converted by the CUPS printing system.

You could post a portion of /var/log/cups/error_log where this print job occurs.

SuSE 10.2 - no printout

A possible problem is: The printer device name is set to /dev/usb... in TurboPrint Setup / xtpsetup. With CUPS 1.2.x or higher this is no longer possible. Use the symbolic name "usb://manufacturer/model" instead (e.g. "usb://canon/ip2000" - use the drop down list in xtpsetup next...

Hello - thank you for your request!

At this time no drivers for "postcard" photo printers are planned - this may change in the future.

Hello,

yes, please use

rpm --upgrade turboprint-1.95-1.i386.rpm

which retains your current configs.

Additionally you can also save /etc/turboprint/turboprint.cfg to back up your configs if you should have to remove TurboPrint and install again.

For installation from console the Turboprint RPM must be in the current directory, e.g. download to your home directory (/home/<username>). Before entering "rpm --install ..." you can enter ls turboprint-1.95-1.i386 If the file was not found please change directory cd /home/<username>

Open a command line and execute

sudo /usr/lib/cups/backend/usb

Hi, please select the entry "usb://manufacturer/printer" (e.g. "usb://canon/ip4300") from the drop down list next to "Connection" field instead of "/dev/usblp0" or "/dev/usb/lp0". Note: it is no longer possible to use /dev/usb... with newer Linux dis...

Hello, do you mean that you have to wait only if duplex is turned on? It is true that the page is always reversed even if there is only one side to print on. There is no "quick fix" except to turn off duplex. I will investigate if there is a better solution for a future TurboPrint version.

Please check the printer cable and make sure that the port is not locked by another printer driver. Use

sudo killall parallel

to terminate the CUPS parallel backend if it should be running.

What happens if you enter

sudo echo "hallo" > /dev/lp0

in a terminal window?

Hello,

the registration can get lost when file creation dates are modified in the /usr/share/turboprint directory (only with turboprint 1.94 or older).

Please update to the current version turboprint-1.95

Hello, thank you for your request!

There are no plans to support photo printers with less than A4 / Letter print size - this may change in the future.
