Files disappearing from the RIP

Post by Astred »

Hello
Running Print Fab on my i9950 Canon with OS X 10.10.1

I have been trying to print files from numerous programs (Indesign CS6, Photoshop CS6, Acrobat professional Pro, Microsoft Word ) and each time my file spools, the Printer Dialogue box pops up then disappears and the file is not transferred to the printer.

I have opened the printer utility and run a Print Test Page to make sure the computer and printer are connected - they are, it works. But it still isn't working with other programs.

On one occasion the printer dialogue box displays the file name with 'incoming' below for around 1 minute then the file disappears.

I have been happily using Print Fab all year and there were no issues when I updated to Yosemite last month, so what has happened in the last week to make it stop working?

Hello,

you need the current version PrintFab 2.71 for OS X 10.10 Yosemite. PrintFab version 2.63 and older will not print from applications that send Postscript print jobs (e.g. all Adobe applications).

Hi Zedonet
2 years later and I find myself with the exact same issue.
However I am running OSX El Capitan 10.11.6
I have downloaded the PrintFab 2.82, restarted my computer and there is no change.

Hello and please excuse the late answer due to vacation.
Could you please send the PrintFab log file:

- Open "Applications" / "Utilities" / "Console"
- Click on "Logs"
- Choose the log file: double click "/var/log", then
"printfab_cups.log"

Then copy & paste to your answer in the forum post - the section for the last print job starting from "####### Newprint" job should be sufficient.
