unablke to print to CD

Post by rasman » Sun Sep 01, 2013 1:29 pm

Just upgraded to turboprint 2.30-1 and Ubuntu Precise from Lucid. Laptop also changed from 32-bit to a 64-bit machine.

When I try to print a CD that I've printed before it not longer wotrks. Turboprint complains that the CD tray is open or missing.
My printer is a Canon PIXMA 9000 pro.

These are the sttings I'm using:

page size 14x14 with a 1cm margin (also tried 14.1 x 14 as was recommended to get around some openoffice issue in the past - don't know whether that's still required).
from the print menu:
Paper size CD/DVD, orientation landscape, CD Tray, Duplex Off.
Device settings specify CD Printable media.

When I print I see briefly a message from turboprint monitor that it's attempting to feed paper then the message about the CD Tray being open.

Yet the print job characteristics appearing in Monitor say Feed Tray=CD

The other change that's occurred since upgrading to Precise is the t now come with LibreOffice instead of OpenOffice, but I'd be surprised if that's a factor since it appears that Turboprint is being told to print a CD from the CD tray.

Here's the print log:

Any thoughts on what's wrong?

Hello,

everything looks fine in the log file, except that the driver "Canon PIXMA Pro9500" is shown instead of your Canon PIXMA Pro9000 printer. Please make sure that the correct driver is selected in TurboPrint Control - if necessary remove the printer entry and add it again with the correct driver.

thanks, that suggestion got the cd tray to be recognised. But Libreoffice Draw get's the CD template completely wring. It's as openoffice was a few yeasrs ago when the template had to be embedded in A4. Printing using openoffice works.
