Thank you - that was fast!
The output looks good and you could try to set up the printer URI manually:
- Start TurboPrint Control
- Open the "Edit" dialog
- Select "Connection"="Other (CUPS URI)" and enter
tpu://Canon/iP4500_series/SN=429D26
- Close the dialog with "Ok"
- Try to print a test page

OK nearly 6 months later and I still have the same issue.
I just tried again. It SAW the printer for the test page to 99% then went OFFLINE/UNPLUGGED.
Using CUPS I can print a test page on the TP printer, THAT SHOWS IN THE MONITOR WINDOW even though it is "OFF".

OK Nearly a YEAR ON and I still have same issue.
Just revisited it to see if anything had changed.
Re-setup printer. Print test page - prints correctly but monitor shows -

I have re-installed Linux Mint 17.3 since I moved to a SSD. Still can't fully use my printer.
