New Printers?

Hi,

I don't want to flame or stir a commotion, but to me it seems you guys from TurboPrint focus so much on your new 2.0 release that you forgot what the most important part of your software is:
Drivers, drivers, drivers!

Sorry, but what good is a great UI, new printing features etc if all new Canon printers are not supported anymore? Your latest driver update is now nearly half a year old, that's a looooong time in the printer business.
I mean IMHO you are going to hurt your revenues going this way.

Of course I'll take it back if new drivers are just around the corner.
And no, I do not mind to see those new drivers to be released in 2.0 only...

just my 2 cents...

Sorry to annoy:
But when will the be released?
And how will be the upgrade from 1.x to 2.x (since I assume new drivers will only be part of 2.x)?

Drivers

There are 3 printers that I am thinking of purchasing and would like to print using Gimp on Linux Ubuntu.

They are:

Epson Stylus Pro3800 (a very popular 17" printer released over a year ago)
Epson Stylus 2880 ( a replacement for the 2400 that replaced the 2200)

Canon IPF5100

I do not see any drivers for these printers in Turbo Print.

Also when drivers are released I would hope that all of the features are implemented. In the case of the Epson Stylus Pro3800, the choice of paper (ie glossy or matte etc) swtiches the black tanks from photo black to matte black and purges the ink line. The printer has a head with 8 ink channels but hold 9 cartridges. It is also critical to have the driver monitor the ink levels or the expensive printer can be ruined.
