Using TurboPrint with Continuous Ink Supply Systems

Hi!

I'm considering purchasing this Continuous Ink Supply System (CISS) for my IP4200: http://www.rihac.com.au/product_info.ph ... cts_id=207

Will TurboPrint work OK with an IP4200 that has a CISS installed?

(I realise that the IP4200 uses chipped cartridges: Rihac provide instructions for transferring the chips from my existing Canon cartridges to the Rihac CISS cartridges, or they can do it for me for a small fee. I just want to know how TurboPrint will behave with the chipped CISS.)

Hello,

TurboPrint (and your printer) will behave as if you refill your ink cartridges - once the chip on the ink cartridges has counted to "zero" the printer refuses to print, but can be forced to continue by holding the "feed/continue" button for a few seconds. From that moment on the printer - and TurboPrint Monitor - will not report the actual ink amount.

I think that's acceptable, given that I'll have a much larger reservoir of ink than the cartridges normally provide, anyway. :D

Will TurboPrint's ink counters still work?

TurboPrint's ink counters are based on calculations of the printer driver and will continue to work.
