head adjustment not working on i965

Hi,

I just downloaded version2 and it seems to support the i965 beautifully except for one thing, head alignment.

I ran head alignment test and it showed needed adjustment +2 +2 +5 ... I entered the results and it completed.

I rerun the test and it seems nothing has altered. The offset pattern is the same

I maybe misunderstanding the test in that maybe it resets to a zero offset each time before running and hence gives the same result.

If this is the case I would like to have a means to run the head alignment pattern with the new offsets to verify how good the result is.

Could you clarify what is happening here?

Thanks.

I've run this again and it seems something is missing from this process. Is this a limit of the API that is available for adjustment?

I input 2,2,5 for C,E,H values (magenta) then the second page prints black and cyan. There is an array of coloured blocks with no labelling and no input. The best blocks are not in the central row/column. What purpose does this page serve?

Reprinting the nozzle check page shows one band for each colour but very faint so it is hard to comment on the quality other than it "seems OK".-ish.

However B,D,G look messy. A and F are suboptimal.

C,E,H look very good.

Is all this a limit of the hardware or are there issues in the test routine?

TIA

Hello,

on Canon printers, the alignment test page always look the same, it doesn't show if the previous alignment was successful (this is only the case for Epson printers where the central field should be aligned when repeating the alignment procedure).

I don't know if the nozzle check page also shows alignment quality - are there alignment fields on the page that have the same letters as the alignment test page?
