lpd failed

Post by tgs1952 »

Hello. Purchased the Linux driver for a Canon ip 3500.

Worked great for a few weeks but today I got the message:

lpd failed.

I edited the /etc/cups/printers.conf

from status stopped to 'status idle'.

Restarted cups but still won't print.

The print monitor just tells me that the last job is 'processing' - and that is after 25 minutes.

Please advise.

Hello,

if status changes from "idle" to "printing" to "stopped" after starting a new print job, an error may be the reason for the queue being stopped.

You could examine the log files

/var/log/turboprint/print.log
/var/log/cups/error_log

for error messages - or email them to "mail (at) turboprint (dot) de" so that we can investigate them.
