Canon MP640 and Linux EeePC 701

Post by sebafil »

Hi,

I have just installed Turboprint on my Eee PC.

No installation problem, my Canon MP 640 (connected to my router by ethernet) is seen by TP installation, all seems to work perfectly.

But when I send the test page to the printer :

- all begins normaly : TP print monitor send up to 36% of the test page to the printer.

- on the printer, the job begins (canon MP640 screen show a "setting up" screen, as always when a job starts).

But : that's all ! Nothing is printed and the MP640 freezes : even when clicking the cancel button ON THE PRINTER, the cancellation does not go to the end, need to turn off/on the printer to continue working.

Of course, with all my other networked computers, the MP640 works like a charm...

So what's wrong (I am not at all a linux enthousiast, so perhaps I missed some kind of "manual setting").

Thank you for your feedback!

You wrote "with all my other networked computers,

For closer investigation, please send the following information:

- the printer connection string "URI" as visible in TurboPrint Control Center, column "URI"

- the log files
/var/log/turboprint/print.log
/var/log/cups/error_log

- the printer status in TurboPrint Monitor when the print job hangs
