Canon iP2000 ubuntu 12.04

Post by BrianV »

I use after market ink cartridges and understand the iP2000 ink counters will not be reset. I expected TurboPrint would reset its counters when I select TurboPrint Control > Edit > Reset Ink Counters Now. This does not work. The TurboPrint Monitor indicates both Colour and Black ink levels low and reports this as an alarm. Repeated attempts to reset this do not work.

Is there a different reset procedure I should be trying?

Hello,

there are two type of "counters":

1) the "remaining ink capacity" counters that are located in the printer's ink cartridges
(shown in TurboPrint Monitor, index card "Info")

Unfortunately, there is no way to reset these counters
(except for some aftermarket ink cartridges that have resettable counters; the cartridge manufacturer should provide information and/or a reset tool).

2) the "ink consumption counters" maintained by TurboPrint
(shown in TurboPrint Monitor, index card "Ink counters")

These counters show the ink consumption that is estimated by the TurboPrint driver and are useful to compare ink usage for different print settings or different documents.
They can be reset in TurboPrint Control as you described.
