I just upgraded to Quark Xpress 8.0 and am using PrintFab v 2.04. The new Quark version imported all the appropriate settings for PrintFab and all looks OK in the dialog box when I print to my Epson Stylus Photo R800, but the printer will not print. The file appears in the print queue, but it does not progress (does not show percentage spooled in progress bar) and blocks jobs that are sent afterward from other applications (which still print fine).
Is there a compatibility problem with my versions of Quark Xpress and PrintFab? What can I do to get my printer to work with Quark again??
Quark 8.0 won't print
Hello,
please excuse the delay! No general problem with PrintFab & QuarkXPress 8.0 is known.
It would be helpful if you could send the PrintFab log file after trying to print from QuarkXPress:
- Open "Applications" / "Utilities" / "Console"
- Click on "Logs"
- Choose the log file: double click "/var/log", then "printfab_cups.log"
- Select the menu "File" / "Save a Copy As" and save the file to your home
directory so that you can include it with your email

Hello,
I have received the log file via email - unfortunately I still cannot find the reason for the problem.
What you could try:
In the print dialog, "PrintFab Settings", switch off the option "Use ghostscript as postscript interpreter".
This might help if it is a postscript releated printing problem.
