Canon MX922 will not print CD

I am new to this forum; but not to Turboprint. I have never had a problem until now.
I am having problems printing DVD with Turboprint 2.44-1 (20-Nov-2017) on a Canon MX922.
I have followed the instruction in chapter 14.3 however the DVD label is printed to paper. I have tried from Gimp and Libreoffice Draw without success. Paper size is set to cd/dvd feed is CD Tray. If I insert the CD in the CD tray the printer sends a warning about the front being open.
I know from the Canon program on windows the you are prompted to insert the CD at a predetermined time. Turboprint doesn't do that. If the CD is not inserted then paper is printed.

I can print from Gimp File > Print and then select the turboprint option to print the CD.. I have never had much luck with the Gutenprint it seems to be the same trying print to the turboprint driver direct from Gimp File > turboprint.
