Canon_PIXMA_iP4700.ppd restricts resolution to 2400dpi!?

Post by cpt7 »

Hi,

although the TurboPrint ControlCenter shows resolutions > 2400 dpi, I'm not able to print with more than3200 dpi.

I had a look at the PPD file, in there the resolution settings exist for:
*Resolution 300x300dpi/1 - 300dpi
*Resolution 600x600dpi/2 - 600dpi
*Resolution 601x600dpi/3 - 2400dpi

no more resolutions..

for Pixma iP4600 and most other Pixmas there are following resolutions in:
*Resolution 300x300dpi/1 - 300dpi
*Resolution 301x300dpi/2 - 300dpi
*Resolution 600x600dpi/3 - 600dpi
*Resolution 601x600dpi/4 - 2400dpi
*Resolution 602x600dpi/5 - 4800dpi
*Resolution 603x600dpi/6 - 9600dpi

Is this just a bug / missing configuration in the ppd file or are there other parts missing also?

Would it be sufficient to just edit the file manually and add the missing line?

Thanks for your help,
Cpt7

Hello,

thank you for your feedback!

This is a user interface problem - internally the highest prossible print resolution is used (9600dpi) when choosing "Quality"="3 - 2400dpi". However, the print resolution is not correctly visible in the application.

This will be fixed in the next release.
