Canon Paper Profile Differences

Post by dlaciv12 »

I just received a sampler from Canon which has "Platinum Glossy PT-101" in it. When I use Control Center to select the paper I have an option labeled "Canon PhotoPapaerPro Platinum." I think this is the correct selection. But, when I check the website I see an additional download for "Photo Paper Pro Platinum" with the spaces between the word. What's the difference and which should I use?
Ubuntu 18.10
Canon Pixma Pro 10
Printing from darktable or GIMP
Include in the sample from Canon are:
Lustre LU-10
Platinum Glossy PT-101
Semi-gloss SG-201
Premium Matte PM-101
I'm struggling to figure out if these papers are supported by TurboPrint because no names or model numbers match up between Canon's names and TP's.

Hello,

I recommend to use the included option "Canon PhotoPaperPro Platinum". The additional downloads on our website are profiles that have been measured for customers through our color profiling service.

Profiles for the following papers are included in TurboPrint & PrintFab:

Lustre LU-10 => Canon PhotoPaperPro Luster
Platinum Glossy PT-101 => Canon PhotoPaperPro Platinum

The following papers can be used with very good results with existing TurboPrint profiles:

Semi-gloss SG-201 => Canon PhotoPlus Semigloss SG101
Premium Matte PM-101 => Fineart Paper Premium Matte

Of course you can use our profiling service to add new color profiles to TurboPrint.
