Trying out the 30 day eval copy just downloaded today to my Dell inspiron 32/ on ubuntu. I attempted to to edit a photo and print with GIMP and turn around time on max resolution setting is 6 minutes..........is there anyway to expedite the printing process? Seems very slow compared to other laptop that's running windows printing on same resolution..........printer is epson 2880 with USB parallel. Thanks for any advice

does it take long until printing starts or is printing slow (the printer pauses between printhead movements)?
Time until printing is usually longer than on Windows because on Linux there is generally an additional conversion from JPEG to Postscript (or PDF) and back to a raster image format. This takes usually some seconds but can also take longer (some minutes) if the image resolution is very high.
What is the image size (width x height in pixels)?
