Bordeless Printing on Pixma MP800R

Post by letic »

Hi there,

I just came back to turboprint after a long hiatus (last version I used was 1.95) and I am very impressed by the progress the project made.

I was trying to print A4 borderless on my printer but the setting is not saving and page still have a border.

Here is the details of my config :
- Debian sid 64bits
- TurboPrint 2.16-2 (tested with 2.17-1beta as well)
- Canon Pixma MP800R (Using the Pixma MP800 driver)
- Gimp turboprint plugin
- Quality 9600/4800/2400 same results for each
- Paper PR101, PP101 same results

I also try to create a new layout called A4 borderless with the correct settings but they are resetted every time I validate.

Steps to reproduce :
1. Open an image in gimp turboprint
2. Click on turboprint config
3. Change to the above settings
4. Check borderless for the A4 layout (or use the newly created A4 borderless)
5. Validate and click back on turboprint config
6. Borderless is unchecked (or the layout is back to A4)

Any idea ? I know this combination of paper/layout/bordeless is working in my Windows VirtualBox that I have been using to print so far.

Thanks in advance
Keep up the good work

Hello,

the page size must be chosen in the GIMP turboprint print dialog window (frame "Paper Size", setting "Page Size") - choose one of the "Borderless" formats for borderless printing (e.g. "4x6 Borderless").

Now no page margins will be visible in the preview.

Then click on the button "Borderlerless Image Size" to scale and center the image.

Finally, choose the correct "Media Type" and an appropriate "Print Quality" and hit the button "Print" or "Print and Save Settings".
