Wireless Printing

My Canon Pixma MG6250 works fine only while connected using a wired USB connection but will not work with the Wireless connection. Does this mean that Turboprint will be never be able to function wirelessly? The Debian based Linux distro "SolusOS" is the only operating system on this Medion laptop.

Hello,

printing should also work over a wireless network.

First make sure that the printer is properly logged in to the WiFi network and find out the printer's IP address in the printer's setup menu. Then open TurboPrint Control and add a new printer. On some Linux distributions the printer will automatically be detected, on others you must set it up manually with the settings

Connection type="Other"
URI = "bjnp://<ip-address>"

(replace <ip-address> by the actual ip address)

Hi zedonet
Many thanks indeed for your prompt and invaluable help in solving my wireless printing problem. It took 2hrs searching the Desktop MG6200 Manual on my iMac only to discover that IP address wasn't listed. Finally I phoned Canon who then went thru the same procedure and came to the same conclusion. They had to locate a MG6200 printer and experiment with it to find the IP address that i was finally able to use in the command you gave me. They apologised for the terrible manual provided by their own Company. But all is now well!
Kind regards and best wishes.
Bernard. :D

Maybe we can add some information for other users with the same problem. As far as I can remember, the MG6200 has an option to print a network status page that contains the IP address. Which solution did Canon provide?
