Mapping PrintFab Colorprofiles to Printer mediatypes
Posted: Fri Aug 16, 2019 12:02 pm
Can you clarify the relationship between the paper type in the included and additional PrintFab-colorprofiles (xxx.pfprofile) one the one hand, and the mediatype (papertype) wich has to be set in the printer itself (Epson SC-P600) ?
Examples :
The additional generic PrintFab-color profile Hahnemuehle Photo Pearl is defined as glossy in PrintFab.
Hahnemuele's advice is to set Epson Premium Luster in the printer if printed with their (non-PrintFab) profile and with Photo Black ink.
How do you map PrintFab-glossy to Epson-mediatype ?
Epson Glossy ?
Epson Premium Glossy ?
Epson Premium Luster ?
... ?
Hahnemuehle FineArt Photo Rag is defined as fineart in PrintFab.
It's a paper from the Matt FineArt smooth series, and their advice is to set Velvet Fine Art in the printer if using their own icc-profile.
But SC-P600 knows yet another Fineart-paper : UltraSmooth Fine Art.
So, how do you map PrintFab - fineart to Epson - mediatype?
Velvet Fine Art ?
UltraSmooth Fina Art ?
... ?
Hahnemuehle Photo Rag Baryta is a paper from their glossy fineart series.
It can be printed with PK and with MK using the generic profile included in the PrintFab-driver. There is no PrintFab - papertype documented.
Wich mediatype has to be set in the printer if printed with PK and if printed with MK ?
In other words, how do you translate the generic PrintFab-papertypes into the mediatypes known by the printer itself ?
