I'm using an IX6820. Out of nowhere my print quality went downhill fast. The issue is 3/4 of the way down a print job the logo will become crooked and blown out. Picture attached. The print quality is just fine when I use the standard print driver that comes with the printer. I've had to use this the last few days in order to get any work done. But its only when I use print fab does this happen. I tried uninstalling, reinstalling, updating driver for printer, everything I could think of. Again, without using PrintFab the print is perfect just not dark enough.
The picture attached is only 1 example. There seems to be an odd repeating print pattern on some of the positives as soon as this happens but not all the time. However you can see the print become crooked and, the ink become blown out meaning it's not a solid (distorted) and easily see through.

Re: Print crooked and blownout
Hello, if you could print reliably before, I suspect it is a ink problem or a printer hardware problem and not a printer driver software problem. The iX6820 has two black print heads, one for pigment black (used with the media setting "Plain Paper") and one for photo black (used for all other media, e.g. for the media setting "Transparent"). Your standard printer driver may use a different media setting so the problem is not visible.
Please print a "Nozzle Test" from the PrintFab Toolbox. All patterns should be printed completely and solid, especially the staircase pattern at the top and the black square at the bottom:
Also, please send more information:
- which media setting do you select in PrintFab (e.g. "Plain Paper", "Transparent")?
- do you use regular Canon ink or high density UV ink?
- do you have an "All black" ink set, i.e. black ink in the Cyan, Magenta and Yellow cartridges?
- which media setting did you select in the standard Canon driver?

Re: Print crooked and blownout
First off thank you for your reply. Appreciate you.
- within PrintFab I use the transparency option
- I use high density UV ink - DMAX
- Multi-Black is set
- Media on standard driver I print with T-shirt Transfer option
The attachment is from the PrintFab nozzle check.

Re: Print crooked and blownout
Just wanted to bump this as I'm pretty desperate.
Re: Print crooked and blownout
As I wrote, I think it is a printer hardware problem, either in the ink cartridge or in the print head. If the problem is caused by the print head, the only solution is to get a replacement print head.
For better diagnosis, please send photos or scans of the film and of the nozzle test page in high resolution. If the forum does not accept them because the file size is too large, please send by email to mail (at) zedoet (dot) de
