Not printing due to inaccurate ink levels

Post by Magonian »

Hi, I have a HP Smart Tank 7005. I have only printed a couple of images. This printer has windows on the front of it, where you can physically observe the ink sitting inside the reservoir. I can see they have barely been used.

The printer and Turboprint worked fine at first, but recently I have gotten messages saying the printer is running low on ink. Today I tried to print and I was told there is no ink left. The image would not print at all. Yet according to Turbo Print monitor the ink levels are okay (see attachment)

I'm also told the paper tray is empty, despite this not being true.

I'm using Linux Mint. Any advice?

Hello, the ink consumption bars visible in your screenshot are not levels of ink remaining in your printer - they show the estimated ink consumption of the last print job.

For most printers, TurboPrint Monitor shows the remaining ink levels in the tab "Info" (you selected tab "Ink Counters").

HP Smart Tank printers do not reply the remaining ink level, so TurboPrint Monitor can't show the remaining ink level.
Instead please monitor the remaining ink levels directly at the printer by looking at the transparent ink tanks.
