Hello,
Which paper class to choose for my “Brilliant papers”
I’m use several “Brilliant” Papers I think they are from German origin. And sold by Calumet. https://www.brilliantpaper.eu/
They have economic versions and ‘museum’ high class fine art papers. The museum papers are all 300gr/m2 and according the manufacturer I have to choose glossy or Matt papers.
But your manual is not so clear!
Here is an example from your PF manual.
The following types of paper can be selected:
* Plain paper for normal paper, e.g. copy paper / (color-) laser paper
* Matte inkjet paper for matte coated inkjet paper (not for satin / semimatte photo paper)
* Glossy paper for high quality photo papers (glossy, semi-matte / semi-glossy satin or pearl), use this setting also for FineArt Baryta
* Transparency for projectors, film for silk screen exposure
* Fine Art paper thick, matte paper often with a rough texture like rag or canvas (not for satin / semimatte Fine Art paper like Baryta)
* Other paper for a paper that does not match any choice above
Now I’m confused!
Two of the ‘museum’ papers named ‘Brilliant Satin Matt’ (White / Natural). And the manufacturer states to choose for ‘Matt’ paper!
On my Epson I can choose ‘fine art Matt’ and I know that the Matt black inkt is used.
When I look at your list. I can’t choose any of the ‘Matt’ or fine art papers list! Because al your ‘Matt’ options ruled out ‘satin matt’
The Satin Matt paper from Brilliant is very heavy 300 g/m2 and have a typical rough Finish.
So what paper to choose? And be sure the right Matt black inkt cartridge is used?
I have the Epson SC-P900.

Yes, I was on vacation. This is a community forum - most questions are answered directly by us. However, delays may occur as we also have to respond to a large number of emails and sometimes other users respond to forum topics.
I recommend submitting time-sensitive questions via email or the contact form on our website.

For the Epson SureColor SC-P900, the assignment is as follows:
Setting in the PrintFab "New Profile" dialog -> Epson media type selected in printer -> type of black used
Plain paper -> Plain Paper -> MK
Matte inkjet paper -> Archival Matte -> MK
Glossy paper -> Premium Glossy -> PK
Transparency -> Premium Glossy (the printer does not natively support Transparency) -> PK
Fine Art paper -> Smooth Fineart -> MK
Other paper -> Premium Semiglossy -> PK
If the manufacturer states to choose "Matt" paper, you can select "Matte inkjet paper" for < 300 gsm and "Fine Art paper" for >= 300gsm
If the manufacturer states to choose "Glossy" paper, please select "Glossy paper"

Thanks for your answer.
I hope you had a good and fine vacation
But I think it’s better to state clearly that this forum is not an official ‘support forum. ‘ then it makes clear to everyone that for real support a email is the way to go
.
And for the rest of questions. And tips and tricks use the forum.
