Epson XP-65 paper feed

Post by AndrewLD »

Slackware 15.0
turboprint-2.59-1.x86_64.tgz
Gimp 2.10.36
A4 borderless b/w photo Epson matte paper heavy weight
The printer will only load paper from the rear feed. Am I doing something wrong?

This, added to the fact that the rear feed requires me to wait until the printer tells me 'out of paper' before loading considerably affects my workflow.

Hello, I think that the printer accepts only plain paper from the cassette, heavier paper must be fed from the rear feed. Can you please try if printing works as expected if you select "Paper"="Plain Paper", and "Feed"="Auto" or "Cassette 1"?

No joy. Paper will not load using either "Auto" or "Cassette 1".
Note: I can print as desired from a Win 11 laptop using Windows Photo Viewer, but this is not a long-term option for me.
Thanks

Silence is golden, but I suppose it means there is no solution to this.

Sorry for the delay. There was actually a problem in the driver that the command code for "auto" was wrong and the printer feeds from the rear tray instead. Otherwise the assignment may be different than expected (but same as in Epson's Windows driver):

Cassette 1 = small upper cassette up to 13x18xcm
Cassette 2 = large lower cassette for all paper sizes

I will send a corrected printer driver file by email.

The new driver file seems to function correctly. Thanks.
