MacOS 27 PrintFab 3.07 and HP designjet Z2100

Post by psheeran »

I can not get my Z2100 24in to print any wider than 15 inches. I am using Lightroom Classic, PrintFab 3.07 And MacOS 27. I also downloaded the profiles for HP paper and they do not match the model number of the printer. I am evaluating this as my solution to continue using a great photo printer into the future. All functions work as normal with MacOS 10 something and Lightroom 5 with apple's/HP stock printer driver.
Any help would be great.
Thank you!

Hello, for the HP DesignJet Z2100 printer you need to select the largest trial verison "PrintFab Pro XL".

A width limit of 15" sounds as if you selected "PrintFab Home L" or "PrintFab Pro". Please open the app "PrintFab Toolbox", button ->"About/License" and check the current trial type.

If it is not "PrintFab Pro XL", you can run the PrintFab installer from the DMG archive again and select "PrintFab Pro XL".

Any chance for an update as to the paper/media profiles not matching the printer model?

Hello, the question has also been answered by email:

We don't have additional ICC color profiles for the HP DesignJet Z2100 printer available.
However, there are several ways to get additional profiles:

1. existing ICC profiles provided by a paper manufacturer can be also used with the PrintFab Z2100 driver
(Please note that for most other PrintFab printer drivers, it is essential that the ICC profile was created specifically for PrintFab)

2. You can create your own ICC profiles, either using an ICC profiling service or with the DesignJet's built-in spectrophotometer (a Windows PC is required to run HP's profiling software)

3. We also have a color profile creation software which is described on the following web page
