install in debian

Post by ald »

I installed systems turboprint in Debian squeeze (dpkg install turboprint_packet_name.deb).

when I startup turboprint I get the message:

user@comp:~$ turboprint
configfile_class::open_config_file: could not open file

Why?

What has been done wrong?

Hello,

if you get this message directly after installing TurboPrint, it simply means that no configuration file has been created yet. Did you already add a printer in TurboPrint Control?

The printer is added.
If I run "#sudo turboprint" everything works without errors.
Which file can not open turboprint?
I did "#chmod 777 /etc/turboprint/turboprint.cfg" and still get the error.

There is also a user config file located in

~/.turboprint/turboprint.cfg

This file is created when you start TurboPrint Control as non-root user and modify and save print settings with the "Configure" dialog.

Please note that the message "configfile_class::open_config_file: could not open file" is not an error - we will remove the message in the next TurboPrint release as it is confusing.

Thanks.
I copied the file /etc/turboprint/turboprint.cfg to ~/.turboprint/ and now everything is working fine.
