Epson Stylus Pro 4000

Post by Wills »

I have some time to try out the Printfab rip as it's almost holiday time, my 4000 has a paper tray feed that supports Premium Luster (I print a lot on this cut sheet media and manual feeding is a pain) using the PF rip I could only choose Glossy as the media type but receive a forbidden media type, from the standard Epson driver I can choose Luster and feeding from the paper tray is permitted. Is it possible for a luster media type to be added to the PF media choice.

Another quick question is there a borderless option available for cut sheet media?

Hello,

thank you for your feedback!

Real borderless printing is only possible with roll paper, with cut sheet media the printer can print up to the left / right edges of the paper but not top / bottom (especially there is a large margin at the bottom).

Printing on glossy paper from the paper cassette should be possible.
Could you please send the PrintFab logfile so that we can check the driver settings (after trying to feed a sheet from cassette):

- Open "Applications" / "Utilities" / "Console"
- Click on "Logs"
- Choose the log file: double click "/var/log", then "printfab_cups.log"
- Select the menu "File" / "Save a Copy As" and save the file to your home directory so that you can include it with your post or email

Then either post the file or email to mail at zedonet dot de

I seem to have a doubling of the margin which by default is .30cm right/left/top/bottom on the print it is actually tight to the right with a .6cm margin on the left when feed manually on tray feeding it is centered but the margins are greater than the stated .30cm I'm attempting a 8"x10" image on an A4 sheet the actual print is being clipped on the 8" to 7.45" (sorry about the mixed measurements)
