I also have the same problem. Canon Pixma MP780 on Ubuntu 6.10. I have reinstalled turboprint and the key file (that I payed for). I have removed printer, added printer, changed its connection properties, still not working. I try to send a test page and it just waits for ages, no responce from printer at all.
When printing a document, it sits in the printer que indefinatly, other print jobs are just added to the que.
The printer still works fine if I use MS Windows XP
Could someone please help me, this issue has almost rendered my linux machine for business useless
Cannot print PDF doc on Ubuntu

Tried uninstall/re-install, did not work this time. Tried a test page, printer made some noises like it was about to start printing but never got there. From the xtpsetup screen it says "printing page 1, 8% complete" and progresses no further.
FYI, here is the contence of the turboprint.log file
Thanks for your help

I have setup turboprint again and re-booted my machine. I am able to print a text file with no problem also printed a PDF with "document viewer", but I have just tried to print a PDF with Adobe, and the print job is still in the print que as I am typing this, (and has been for about 5 min). At least now I'm narrowing it down a bit, I'll stay away from adobe from now on.
It seems when it hangs trying to print from adobe, I need to uninstall/re-install to get turboprint to work again.
Here is the last print from turboprint_cups.log of the fail last print.
And here is a copy of my entire cups.log
Thanks for your time and assistance
edit: I used to be able to print from Adobe reader for linux. I have been playing around with settings, still unresolved
