IP5000 CD printing

Post by Bubba »

Hi,

Anyone know how to make the inner hole of the CD image smaller for full printable CD printing?

I had a look at the ip5000 PPD file, but cant see where/how it does the inner hole mask.

Thanks.

To change the printable area of the CD, please edit the printer description file, e.g.

/usr/share/turboprint/printers/Canon_PIXMA_iP5000.tpp

in the section

[Size14]
Name=CD Printable
ANumber=25
Size=5342,10066
Margins=270,466,3450,2010
Minmargins=134,134,118,275
CDMask=1500,4600
Param=0,0,600,0

the parameters behind "CDMask" specify the size of the center hole (1.5") and the CD (4.6").

I tried this and it works for the inner ring, but when I try to make the outer ring larger (for use with the Verbatim full printables) turboprint crashes with a segmentation fault. Is there anything else I have to change?

To make the outer ring larger, modify the line

Margins=270,466,3450,2010

e.g. to

Margins=210,406,3390,1950

the maximum for the outer size is now 4726, the CD size is 12cm = 4.724".

Tried that on my ip4500 and it didn't make any difference, it is only a minor thing as the rest of turboprint works brilliantly well!

I also made sure that I had a backup of the original!

Any suggestions as to how to get full face, with a 1inch center hole working, then I am listening!

Hello,

if you are using TurboPrint 2, the CDMask parameters are ignored. Instead you can edit the size in TurboPrint Control Center, button "Sizes".

Many thanks for your quick response, the solution is so obvious when it is pointed out! Works a dream now and yes I am using turboprint 2.xx

Apart from it being slightly off-center, apart from that, as I have said, it is working brilliantly well!

...also the x/y offset can be adjusted in the "Sizes" dialog window.
