I have been looking at the ink usage on my IP7250 and notice that the TP Control shows the 5 tank levels fine as does the TP Monitor but the Monitor when showing the usage shows only 4 values with a single black value so there seems to be no way within the monitor to know if a job used photo-black or the ordinary black cartridge. Is there anyway to know which black was used? Also when printing text from say a word processor how can I be sure that it will use the black cartridge?

Re: IP7250 Ink Counters
Hello,
the printer switches between photo black and ordinary black cartridges depending on the media setting:
Ordinary black (larger cartridge with pigmented ink) used for plain paper
Photo black (dye ink) used for all other print media
Currently the driver does not discern between pigment black ink and photo black ink, we plan to add this in a future release.

Thanks for that. I'll make sure that I always use plain paper for text documents.
